Albee Township, located in Saginaw County, Michigan, was established in 1863. The township was named after William Albee, a settler from New York who arrived in 1855.
In its early years, Albee Township was home to several communities, including Albee, Alicia, Carbon, McDonough Corners, and Luce. Albee was settled in 1855, and Alicia had a post office from 1904 to 1947. Carbon, known for its coal mines, had a post office from 1899 to 1903. McDonough Corners, also known as Mc Donagh, had a post office from 1892 to 1903. Luce, located at the western border with St. Charles Township, had a post office from 1890 to 1914.
Over time, these communities experienced changes, with some fading into history. Today, Albee Township is a rural area known for its agricultural heritage and scenic landscapes.
