Burn Permit

BURNING PERMIT RESTRICTIONS

  1. All open flame burning to be done during daylight hours ONLY.
  2. The permittee or someone assigned by the permittee MUST attend the fire while it is in the “OPEN FLAME STAGE” at all times.
  3. Absolutely NO permits will be issued for the burning of tires, tar paper, shingles or any type of building materials.
  4. It is the responsibility of the permittee to burn ONLY when conditions are favorable for burning (Wind direction, dry conditions, etc … )
  5. If, while burning under this permit, the fire gets out of control, the permittee will call the Central Dispatch emergency phone number of 911 and report a fire out of control in Albee Township and give the complete and correct address as soon as possible.
  6. Permits are issued for the burning of leaves and brush; however, under NO
    circumstances can the smoke interfere with neighbors or create a traffic hazard. If
    this happens, the fire will be put out immediately.
  7. ALL burning will be done a safe distance from any structure or object that could be damaged from fire. Burning must be kept well away from overhead wires. You could be held liable for any overhead wire damages.
  8. Permits will be issued for seven (7) consecutive days. Permits may NOT be issued
    at all or for a lesser length of time, depending on weather conditions.
  9. All applicants must comply with burning ordinance No. 95-2. The permittee has read the above conditions and understands his/her responsibilities. This permit CAN AND WILL be revoked at any time if the conditions stated above are violated in any way.
  10. No burning on commercial property. Must contact D.N.R.
